Short version: this is a website about a person who writes and speaks. It collects almost nothing, sells nothing to anybody, and the few things it does collect are listed below.
Analytics. I use a privacy-focused analytics tool to count page views and see which pages people read. It sets no cookies, does not follow you to other websites, and collects nothing that identifies you personally. I see numbers, not people.
When you send me a message. The podcast and booking forms are handled by Formspree, which passes your message to my email. I receive what you type: your name, email address, the show or organization, and your note. I use it to reply to you and for nothing else. Formspree retains submissions under its own privacy policy.
When you subscribe. The newsletter runs on Substack. If you subscribe, Substack holds your email address under its privacy policy, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
No advertising. No tracking pixels from social platforms. No selling, renting, or sharing your information. No profile built across your visits. No newsletter signup you did not ask for.
Some pages load content from other companies, which set their own cookies once that content loads. Currently that means Google Fonts, and YouTube or Spotify players where they appear. Their privacy policies govern what they collect.
You can ask what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Depending on where you live you may have a legal right to do so, and either way I will handle it. Email media@jaredheymann.com.
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Information you send about a potential engagement is used to evaluate and discuss that engagement. I do not add booking inquiries to the newsletter list. Any commercial terms live in a separate written agreement, not on this page.
The text, artwork, and photographs on this site are mine. Quote a reasonable excerpt with attribution and a link, and please ask before reproducing anything substantial elsewhere.
